Resuscitate the Tenth Amendment to Resuscitate the Colorado economy...
The federal government is currently
borrowing against our future at an alarming rate. It is upside down when Colorado school children don’t have books,
municipalities are laying off police and fire fighters, and at the federal level our tax dollars are bailing out bloated banks
and inefficient car companies. What is wrong with this picture?
The Tenth Amendment is what’s wrong. We have ignored the
Tenth Amendment for too long at our peril. We are seeing the results today of this lack of interest in the U.S. Constitution.
We are ignoring our responsibilities as citizens of both Colorado and the United States.
Federal spending must be stopped
and it will take the will of all of us across America but the best chance for reversing this disturbing trend of intrusive
federal government starts in our state legislatures and the Governor’s office.
We must elect a governor that will address
this fundamental issue now. We need a governor that supports both the rights of individuals and understands the responsibilities
of government. We need a governor that will stand up to the federal invasion of our state treasure and fight to keep our tax
dollars right here in Colorado.
This is an issue that has nothing to do with party affiliation; it is about sound government based
on our founding principles. This campaign will be the last stand for an out of control central government. The good news is
that there are other governors around the states that feel the same way. It is time to act on these concerns by working together
to define the roles and responsibilities of the state and federal government. The answer is clearly defined in the U.S. Constitution.
We
will stop Colorado tax dollars from leaving Colorado for unconstitutional programs. That is a promise…
This is the overriding
issue that must be solved or we will continually be fighting for the funds needed to fulfill our local and state responsibilities.
Meanwhile lobbyists in Washington DC are doling out this needed money to bloated corporations, corrupt organizations, and
pet projects having no value to the Colorado taxpayer.
Healthcare is another key issue that we need to reform to be consumer based and
not controlled by Giant insurance companies, and bloated federal bureaucrats.
