own peril."Rich Hand
James Madison and Thomas Jefferson…
Clarified federal powers:
James Madison,
“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to
remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects,
as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part be connected.
The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern
the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.”
James Madison,
“This is not an indefinite government… but a limited government, tied down to the specific powers which explain
and define the general terms.”
Thomas Jefferson, “Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but
is restrained to those specifically enumerated.”
How
far we have wandered…
Welcome to our cause!
Political Party: Unaffiliated
Why I continue to run: We have become dependent on government to a level that is unhealthy
and unsustainable. Too many elected officials are no longer representing the people, they are representing the connected.
I believe the two parties have failed and will continue to fail until there is enough pressure brought about by the people
electing independent candidates. Our elected officials need to stop focusing on Washington DC to "fix" our
problems. An out of control federal government in D.C. is the problem. The only path to true reform is to revisit
and reinstitute the Tenth Amendment, and the founding principles of this great nation so eloquently written in the U.S.
Constitution.
Join us today if you still believe this is the greatest nation on this earth;
I do!!
Party Politics
“… agitates the community with ill founded jealousies
and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens
the door to foreign influence and corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels
of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.”George Washington
“ … incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power
of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors,
turns this disposition to the purpose of his own elevation on the ruins of public liberty.” George Washington
“The
common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of the party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people
to discourage and restrain it.” George Washington
Religion
“Of
all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensible supports. In vain
would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness…
The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and cherish them.” George Washington
Debt
“One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible, … avoiding …
the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expense, but by vigorous assertions in time of peace to discharge
the debts which unavoidable wars have occasioned, not ungenerously throwing upon posterity the burden which we ourselves ought
to bear.” George Washington
